The Sydney Elizabeth McMakin Memorial Scholarship 

Eligibility : Applicants must be a graduating senior from James F. Brynes High School who meet the requirements for admission to USC Upstate, demonstrate financial need and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Applicants will complete the scholarship application, including a 500 word essay discussing their academic goals, why they would be a good candidate for this scholarship and how they plan to pay it forward using the education they acquire to help others. The scholarship will award $1000 per year.

The John Edmunds Scholarship Endowment fund

Eligibility: Applicants shall be junior-senior students with at least 3.5 GPA, residents of the Upstate of South Carolina, have declared a major in the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division at USC Upstate. This applicant shall be planning to attend graduate studies in a SBS related discipline to include law or medicine and is required to write a 1500 word essay on their major at USC and the intended graduate study will prepare them for their chosen career. The scholarship will award $1000 per year.
